We see that many companies have problems with their product information and we have found a number of errors within 10 minutes at most large webshops. So there is still a lot of room for optimization.”
A need for working smarter
In recent years, we have seen that companies recognize the importance of a PIM system and that it is occupying an increasingly prominent place within organizations. Where people used to use many different systems and documents, they now want to be able to work quickly and efficiently from one fixed place. No more forwarding twenty Excel Sheets and not saving the latest version properly, or endless emailing back and forth with the supplier to receive the correct specifications.
Hans: “Large companies have often created their own solutions, but the market for PIM is becoming saturated. E-commerce was followed by the PIM peak and many companies started managing their data inside out, thinking they were done as soon as they received and processed their data in their PIM system. However, it is crucial to have in- and outbound flows in order, otherwise it is a waste of investment.”
So it all starts with the basics. And that is exactly where SRC steps in. Uniform data processing
Unfortunately, we’re not at the point where data can be processed uniformly worldwide. But there is a lot that can be done to process this as uniformly as possible. For example, data standards such as GS1, ETIM, RSA, GDSN, etc. are important for this.
“If your implementation partner has arranged it properly, you don’t have to do anything yourself and your data quality is automatically increased. SRC synchronizes data with the data pool and the format in which the data comes in remains up-to-date thanks to these smart systems. The standards are becoming increasingly important and companies will soon only have to enrich their own marketing goals.
