How smart data flows can help your company to gain more time, efficiency and save money

In our ever-changing world, things like collaboration, standards, structures, security and data flows are constantly changing. It is crucial for data professionals to be able to work with accurate and complete data from a reliable system, not only now, but also in the future. At SRC, we are committed to achieving this for our customers on a daily basis, among other things by properly organizing the incoming data flows, or in other words: ‘Inbound Data Flow’. But what does this actually mean? How can you better organize the incoming data flows in your company?

Processing, managing and distributing data comes with many challenges. The amounts and variety of sources and formats mean that incoming data is often complex and difficult to manage. Especially if you still have to solve this manually. Fortunately, that can be done differently.

Get a grip on your data

Inbound data processing stands for managing and streamlining incoming data from various sources such as data pools, ERP systems, label systems and more. Integrating this in the right places and synchronizing it to marketplaces or data pools is what we call outbound data processing.

The purpose of inbound data processing is to merge all kinds of incoming data streams from different sources into one golden record, the only correct version of all the information you have about an article.

How we do this? We can use various functionalities and possibly APIs to combine the data from the necessary sources in a PIM (Product Information Management) solution. Rules can then be managed, groups defined and data priority assigned in the PIM software. In this way, by centralizing the data flow and managing it from one place, you can increase the consistency and reliability of your data and improve the efficiency of business processes. You have complete control over all incoming data again.

From the outside in and from the inside out

Outbound data flow defines what data is used for each target system. Data such as product specifications or product dimensions are shared directly with the target system according to standards. Target systems can be data pools, e-commerce platforms, or your CRM, ERP, or other internal systems. Changes to your data in the PIM system can be immediately communicated to target systems: real-time data processing!

Thanks to such a smart data flow, you as an organization only have to keep track of data in one place. This ensures clean, well-secured and always correct data. For example, we are working step by step towards a uniform method of data processing so that data becomes even more valuable for producers, suppliers, retailers, companies and consumers.

Smarter collaboration

This uniform way of data processing is fully stimulated by data standards such as GDSN to streamline incoming data and ensure smooth outgoing data flows. This simplifies doing business nationally and internationally and saves companies an enormous amount of time and new opportunities. Do you want to discover what the options are for your organization?
