EDI is a standard for exchanging trade documents. Documents sent between companies formerly by post, later by telegram, fax, telephone, and finally e-mail were exchanged – such as orders, packing slips, and invoices – are now automated data where SRC between all parties is the connector. This is how the complete Order To Cash becomes process optimized: orders, order confirmations, packing slips and invoices are automatically sent and received.
